Ways To Stop Smoking Cigarettes - Separate The BS From The Truth

Throughout the country, states have outlawed smoking in public areas. Many workplaces have declared their work environments to be smoke-free, and are disciplining employees who choose to smoke in the workplace. Persons who smoke stand out in the cold, wind or rain, and smoke away as fast as they can in order to return to work.

In some towns, smoking is as negatively perceived as drug dependence. Since the public has become so educated about stop smoking benefits, a significant number are making a strong effort to locate ways to stop smoking.

The addiction of smoking is made up of three components:

1. Approximately 45 percent of the habit of smoking involves seeking pleasure and relaxation.

2. People smoke because they have created an unconscious association between an activity or environment and a cigarette. This causes them to crave a cigarette every time they encounter that location. For example, if a person associates watching television with smoking, they will become conditioned to smoke while watching TV. Then, every time that individual watches television, he or she will want a cigarette.. This is about 45 percent of the smoking addiction.

These facts cause hypnosis to have a noticeably higher success rate than the previously mentioned strategies for stop smoking treatments. Conventional hypnotherapy strategies can provide a 35% effectiveness rate, while Ericksonian hypnosis can deliver a 50% or higher success rate.

A newer, revolutionary, and far more effective method that allows people to conquer a cigarette addiction is Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP. This strategy is much more helpful than conventional forms of quit smoking hypnosis since it does not rely on post-hypnotic suggestions at all. The majority of clients, such as clients who are analytical in nature, resist post-hypnotic suggestions. With NLP, the unconscious is trained to focus on the identical cognitive processes that are creating the psychological dependence on cigarette use, to eliminate it!

A well-designed NLP stop smoking approach developed by a certified NLP Therapist can promise an effectiveness rate of as much as 70 percent or greater.

Summary: The majority of smoking cessation programs try to utilize nicotine replacement products as ways to stop smoking. Alternative techniques, like smoking cessation and cognitive or behavioral treatment approaches, attempt to help the mind find ways to stop smoking.

Although hypnotherapy is more effective than other methods, especially with men, most people do not rate it as the most useful way to stop smoking. Because 90 percent of an individual's struggle with addiction to smoking is psychological in nature, these methods are significantly more effective than just replacing the nicotine and addressing the 10% element of the dependency that is physiological.
