A Skin Rash is only an Effect of Another Condition

by Martha Fitzharris

Having a skin rash can be a great nuisance. They don`t only have an ugly appearance, they can also be quite painful and itchy. Different types of rashes can look very different. Occasionally they appear in the form of red spots or blisters, swollen areas, patches that look like bruises, etc. But no matter what it looks like, a rash is only the consequence of another problem. Keep reading to see what illnesses can present a rash as a warning sign.

Conditions that entail skin rashes

Rosacea is a chronic condition characterized by redness and sometimes, pimples. The face, forehead nose and chin are the areas that are usually affected by this condition, but it can also affect the neck, ears, the chest and even the scalp. The appearance of the rash it produces is permanent redness, and if the condition progresses, other symptoms can develop, such as red small bumps, red eyes and burning and stinging sensation.

Acne, according to a medical dictionary is a 'Localized skin inflammation as a result of over activity of the oil glands at the base of hair follicles. Acne happens when oil (sebaceous) glands come to life around puberty, when these glands are stimulated by male hormones that are produced in the adrenal glands of both boys and girls'. It is the normal skin bacteria that multiplies because of this overproduction of oil and causes the inflammation in the surrounding areas. Acne generally affects teenagers and the areas where it usually appears are the face, the chest and the back. It can appear on the skin in the form of black heads, whiteheads, cysts, which are deep pimples, and also as sore red bumps.

Cellulitis is a bacterial infection of the skin and the tissues beneath the skin. The skin's deepest layers can get affected by this condition as well. This infection generally starts with mild swelling and redness but if the bacteria proliferates, then the red area enlarges and a person may develop a fever and swollen nodes around the area. This condition usually develops around a cut, a scrape or a skin breach

Actinic Keratosis is also known as Solar Keratosis because it is developed by too much sun exposure. It could be a precancerous condition, and therefore, it needs to be treated thoroughly. The appearance of the rash is a scaly patch in pink or gray and bumps, and it appears on the face, scalp and the back of the hands. This condition must be treated as fast as possible, because as we mentioned earlier, it could be the warning stage for skin cancer.

Most of the time it is treated with medicine prescribed by a dermatologist and using a biological skin moisturizer helps as well Bioskincare is a product line that offers a natural skin treatment for most conditions.
